OSHA Announces Top 10 Violations For Fiscal Year 2020

In its latest review, OSHA has released its fiscal year 2020 listing of the Top 10 health and safety violations. The report, presented by field service software provider FIELDBOSS, annually compiles a list of the 10 most-cited standard violations to educate employers so they can take steps to fix recognized hazards before being cited or someone is injured. The 2020 fiscal year statistics, which ended September 30, reflect only slight changes from the 2019 list. Notably, actual violations stayed the same as the previous year, though some standards switched places: Ladders rose one spot to number five; Respiratory Protection also moved up to third from fifth; and Lockout/Tagout dropped two places, from fourth to sixth. More notable, however, is that Fall Protection-General Requirements was OSHA’s most frequently cited standard for the 10th straight fiscal year. A list of the Top 10 violations can be found here.
