These photos, submitted for the ELEVATOR WORLD Photo Contest 2015 by Norman Huggett of New Zealand Engineering Services Ltd., show the entry hub for Saint Kentigern College in Pakuranga, New Zealand. Huggett notes that a constraining factor of the installation was that it be directly over the parking building. This challenge was met by use of LM Liftmaterial GmbH’s LM Emerald 300, which requires a pit only 250 mm deep. The unit’s AC-inverter gearless drive is in the pit, so no mains power runs up the shaft.
