A proposal submitted by Kuwait Member of Parliament Osama Al- Shaheen urges the creation of a safety manual/decree for escalators, Arab Times reported on August 16. Al-Shaheen was motivated after hearing a report of a child injured on an escalator. Al-Shaheen further called for regular inspection campaigns to ensure strict compliance with escalator safety rules.
