A lift technician fell to his death while working on a lift at a shopping mall on January 28 in Cheras, a suburb of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, TheStar reports. The victim was found lying on the ground in the second-floor basement, inside the elevator shaft. Cheras Officials report that CCTV footage shows the 32-year-old victim falling after stepping over a waste bin “that was used to get down from the floor of the main lift.” Police were notified of the incident on January 29. The lift was not in use and not near a main shopping area. “The case has been classified as a sudden death, and investigations are ongoing,” according to officials.
