Nigeria Plans Airport Improvements That Include Elevators

Federal officials in Nigeria are planning to produce improvements to the country’s major airports: Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu State and the airport at Asaba, Premium Times reports. Overall, officials plan to spend NGN35 billion (US$84 million) to take on several projects. The Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika made this known after a cabinet meeting with Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari. Sirika said some NGN5.6 billion (US$13.5 million) of the money was approved for the maintenance of the nation’s new international building terminals in Abuja and Port Harcourt. The officials are also planning more than NGN14.2 billion (US$342 million) to build new terminal buildings with elevators at the two airports.
