In Memoriam: David N. Walton

Walton

David N. Walton, a Riverside, California, native who was passionate about elevators, vintage cars and Democratic politics, passed away peacefully on April 1. Born in 1942, Walton was a journeyman electrician before enjoying a lifelong career in the elevator industry. His roles included elevator technician, supervisor, business owner and consultant. Walton worked for Otis in the San Francisco Bay Area and Honolulu, Hawaii; owned Santa Cruz, California-based Mission Elevator Co.; worked for NYC-based consultancy BOCA Group International, Inc.; and retired from the State of California as a supervisor for Cal/OSHA’s Elevator, Ride and Tramway division. A member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Walton took great pride in his work and received numerous accolades and awards from his employers. Survivors include his wife of more than 50 years, Pam; children, Lisa, Jennifer, Scott and Matthew; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Democratic National Committee or a charity of one’s choosing is welcomed.
