TK Elevator (TKE) has introduced miliftTM, the first commercialized modular elevator system in Hong Kong, in support of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China’s promotion of the Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) concept, TKE announced on May 30. milift combines TKE’s machine-room-less elevator technology with the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly and MiC concepts, which TKE says offers advantages over conventional new and retrofit installation methods for elevators serving overhead bridges, low-rise buildings and other structures that require external lift towers. An overhead bridge in Hong Kong’s Western New Territories of Tuen Mun was the first milift installation. The system was manufactured and assembled in Guangdong Province before being transported directly to the installation site.
