Parents, Young Children Rescued from Australia Lift

Firefighters in Melbourne, Australia, used a crowbar to free a number of parents and their young children who had become trapped in a lift at a major tourist attraction, The Age reported. Officials say 12 people were stuck in the lift at the SEA LIFE Aquarium about 1:40 p.m. on July 17. At least one child suffered a stomach reaction, but no serious injuries were reported. The lift’s doors reportedly failed to open after it had reached its destination on a lower level. A spokeswoman for SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium said the venue’s team called Fire Rescue Victoria to ensure the trapped patrons were “safely removed from the lift within 40 min,” and no serious resulted.
