The elevator and escalator division of Mitsubishi Electric U.S., Inc., headquartered in Cypress, California, recently supported the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere in Nashville, Tennessee, through an employee volunteer effort and monetary donation. Forty-five employees cleaned, gardened and painted in three separate areas of the zoo. In addition, a combined US$15,000 was donated through the division’s partnership with the Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation. Division Director of Marketing and Corporate Social Responsibility Margie Harvey said the company appreciates all employees who support local nonprofits and thanked the Nashville Zoo for an “amazing opportunity.” She said the event was a great bonding experience for all involved. “As our company slogan states, we’re committed to ‘changes for the better,’ and we’re pleased to support an organization dedicated to the care and well-being of such wonderful species,” she said.
