TK Elevator (TKE) has opened an 82,400-ft2 smart data warehouse in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Announced on September 29, the facility is the latest installment of the OEM’s global spare parts business excellence initiative that kicked off in 2020 with the opening of its first smart data warehouse in Madrid, Spain, and represents “another step to further improve customer service, digitalize business and become more sustainable.” Providing an up to 20% reduction in wait time for customers before an elevator is put back into service, the facility centralizes spare parts for TKE’s North America field technicians. Smart data analytics help speed logistics and result in up to 30% time savings compared to traditional warehouses. The new warehouse includes a mini load system that retrieves parts at high speed and an automation system to help control quality, inventory and labor. An automatic parts replenishment feature eliminates the need for technicians to place orders for stocked parts. All parts feature a QR code for easy scanning and inventory control. Parts are available to TKE technicians 24/7, so they can save up to 10% on vehicle trip time per year, further reducing TKE’s carbon footprint as the vehicle fleet has the largest impact on company emissions.
