Chicago developer Fred Latsko plans to build a nearly 40-story, 500-unit apartment tower with “loads of green space” next to the under-construction Guinness brewery — the second in the U.S. — in Fulton Market in Chicago’s West Loop, which has seen a flurry of residential development lately, The Real Deal reports. Judging from a rendering shared by the source, on tap at 375 North Morgan Street on the western portion of the brewery site is a stepped tower with glass and brick elements atop a podium. The project was initially proposed as a 33-story office tower, but shifted to the taller residential version during the pandemic. If built, it will add to the West Loop’s 9,000-plus residential units planned or under construction, which the source notes is “more than the rest of downtown Chicago neighborhoods combined” as of March.
