Miami-based developer Ytech is touting its planned, 70-story, luxury tower The Residences at 1428 Brickell as the first-ever residential high rise to use solar energy, Florida YIMBY reports. Designed by Arquitectonica with interiors by Italy’s ACPV ARCHITECTS, the property is set to feature 500 photovoltaic panels on its west-facing façade producing up to 170 MW of clean energy annually, resulting in a reduction of approximately 4,700 T of CO2. On the drawing board at 1428 Brickell Avenue in Miami’s Brickell Financial District are 189 fully furnished residences, many of which are two stories tall; two private elevators for select penthouses; and more than 80,000 ft2 of amenities, with five of eight amenity spaces situated 860 ft high. On the top floor, a rooftop pool and atrium are planned. Although a construction timeline was not provided, Ytech has a full team in place, including general contractor John Moriarty & Associates, solar energy consultant Cosentini Associates and sales agent Cervera Real Estate.
