Tickets for Battersea Power Station’s chimney elevator experience, LIFT 109, are now for sale to the general public (beginning today), the Londonist reports. LIFT 109 gets its name from the fact that the glass elevator — built by Otis — rises 109 m to the viewing platform. The upward journey begins in Turbine Hall A, where a display gives visitors the history of the Giles Gilbert Scott behemoth, which generated power for one fifth of London. Riders take the elevator to the top of the Grade II listed building’s north-west chimney. Guests then enter the glass elevator and are treated to 360-degree panoramic views of London’s skyline, along with a bird’s eye view of Battersea Power Station, located in London, U.K. Those who signed up for presale were able to purchase tickets beginning November 8.
