In Memoriam: Robert D. Byers Jr.

Robert D. Byers Jr. of Decatur, Illinois, vice president of American Service Group Inc. and a member of the National Association of Elevator Contractors, passed away in January at age 56. He was a man of faith and a member of First General Baptist Church of Decatur, where he was a deacon. He was an avid boater and sports lover, and is remembered as generous, kind and fun. Colleagues, including Gil Prado who worked for companies including McDonough Elevators and Century Elevators, both of Houston, remember him as a “great friend, colleague and resource with such a big heart.” Byers’ survivors include wife, Dana; children, Dalton and Ashley; parents, Robert and Cynthia; and sisters, Barbara and Becky.
