The Housing Authority of Savannah, Georgia, has contracted with Otis Elevator Co. to replace three elevators inside Stillwell Towers, WTOC reports. The 20-story public housing complex for the elderly and people with disabilities has had elevator issues over the years, including a recent outage of both passenger elevators that took two days to fix. In addition to the two passenger elevators, the building has a freight elevator that’s not being used. The US$1.4 million replacement project has been underway since mid-2022 and is expected to be completed around the middle of next year.
