International CAN Conference Issues Call for Papers

The program committee of the 18th International CAN Conference, chaired by Holger Zeltwanger, CAN in Automation (CiA) managing director, has issued a call for papers. Organized by the nonprofit CiA, the conference is set to take place in Baden-Baden, Germany, on May 14-15 2024. The two-day event will cover all three CAN protocol generations: Classical CAN (on which the lift communication standard CANopen is based), CAN FD and CAN XL. Conference topics include device and network design considerations, as well as research results and application experiences. “We expect, in particular, papers about CAN FD experiences and new developments regarding the CAN XL ecosystem,” Zeltwanger said. “Of course, this also includes higher-layer protocols and add-on functions, especially cybersecurity.” The conference language is English, and abstracts of up to 200 worlds should be submitted by September 15 to CiA at email. Accepted papers will be published in conference proceedings.
