14 Injured in Mumbai Elevator Fall

At least 14 people were injured after an elevator collapsed from the fourth floor to the ground floor in the Trade World Tower C in Mumbai, India, on the morning of June 21, the Hindustan Times is among outlets to report. Reportedly, the building is a ground-plus 16-story structure. According to Brihamumbai Municipal Corp. officials, nine people were hospitalized after the event. The building’s security staff rescued all those inside the lift after hearing the sound of the elevator fall and sent them to nearby hospitals. According to officials, the remaining four people who received minor injuries refused hospitalization. Currently, all the injured patients are stable, said officials.
