As Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko toured the production facilities of Mogilev-based elevator manufacturer Mogilevliftmash, he talked with company employees saying, “We must make the most of the current high demand for a variety of domestic products, including elevators,” BelTA reports. Lukashenko said he came to see if the company was able to boost output, saying it is important for companies to work together in the public interest: “If there are some other underutilized enterprises near Mogilevliftmash (and there are some), then it makes sense to place some manufacturing operations there and start making necessary components,” the source said. He added that he and other officials will use a “state approach” more. He went on to say there is current high demand from a variety of markets as western competitors have left the market.
