A 73-year-old woman died of possible cardiac arrest on August 3 after the cable of a lift at a high-rise group housing complex in Sector 137 in New Delhi, India, snapped, leading to a fall, The New Indian Express reports. The lift did not hit the ground but was caught between some of the middle floors of the building, a police official said. According to the report, the woman was alone in the lift when its wire snapped, leading to the fall. She had pressed the button from the eighth floor for the lift to go down while someone from an upper floor had already called the lift, officials said. The woman was admitted to the hospital for treatment, but passed away approximately an hour later.
