Inaugural event raises funds for the Lift Industry Charity.

International Lift Equipment Ltd. (ILE) hosted a “Lift Car Fest” event in its Highams Park distribution centre in North London on 8 June, raising £2,000 in donations for the Lift Industry Charity, which works to improve the lives of industry professionals and their families impacted by injury and loss.

The event featured a barbecue, refreshments and a range of classic and performance vehicles and motorcycles for all to see and enjoy. Examples ranged from a Jaguar SS100 to a 1972 Buick Riviera Boat Tail, as well as more modern vehicles such as a Porsche Panamera 4 and a Harley-Davidson Breakout.

The guest speaker at the event was Dave Cooper from LECS UK, an award-winning firm of independent lift consulting engineers specialising in the movement of people and goods, who outlined the new regulatory regime for high-risk buildings. “It was a pleasure to speak at this event,” he said. “As consulting engineers, we always welcome a platform to share information about the changes to the regulatory landscape and, hopefully, help everyone in the industry to stay abreast of these changes.”

I’m so pleased we’ve been able to offer our industry this opportunity to do some informal networking and socialising. We’re always more than happy to support the Lift Industry Charity, so it’s wonderful to be able to do that with the help of our partners co-sponsoring this event.

— Nancy Lycett, ILE

Vantage Elevation was the key sponsor for the event, as ILE is the exclusive distributor of Vantage Elevation’s GAL product line in the U.K. Additional supporters included Rimex Metal Group and Ziehl-Abegg. The event attracted more than 75 professionals from across the U.K. lift industry in London and beyond, many of whom expressed their enthusiasm to be involved in what is the first of many future similar events to be hosted by ILE.
