Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of America Aleksandr Konyuk told various news outlets Belarus will deliver more than 800 elevators to Armenia in 2023, Public Radio of Armenia reports. Konyuk observed most elevators in Yerevan are from Belarus, thanks to a “very strong dealer” in the Armenian capital. He pointed to Belarus’ competencies and said an important export project has kicked off in cooperation with Mogilev, Belarus-based elevator manufacturer Mogilevliftmash. Initial discussions involved lift maintenance services, Konyuk said, but later a joint venture between Yerevan, Armenia and Belarus was formed. In addition to the Yerevan dealer, another export branch is set to open in Armenia’s Vayots Dzor Province near the town of Jermuk to help Belarus meet Armenia’s annual demand for approximately 4,000 elevators.
