TK Elevator (TKE) Egypt tells ELEVATOR WORLD it provided a total of 56 meta200 elevators to eight towers in the Alamein Downtown Towers project in New Alamein City in northwest Egypt on the Mediterranean Sea. Targeting mid-rise residential and commercial buildings, meta200 elevators travel at up to 3 m/s with a maximum load of 1600 kg. Ranging in height from 27 to 39 stories, the towers are in plots LD-00, which includes four towers on 42,000 m2 and LD-01, which includes four towers on 34,000 m2. In all, the ground-up development will boast 15 towers. The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat reported in December 2023 that a topping-off ceremony had been held for one of the residential towers in LD-01. Alamein Downtown Towers is being built by the Egyptian branch of China State Construction Engineering Corp. “New Alamein City comes along with the country’s ambitious plan to construct new cities with a urbanization concept that’s newly introduced to our society,” TKE Egypt Head of New Installations Mohammed Haidara said. “We are honored to be a reliable elevator supply, installation and service provider partner of the Egyptian Ministry of Housing, achieving this goal together.”
