A contract has been signed and repairs are set to start on an elevator that has been out of operation since summer 2023 at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment in Huntsville, Alabama, News 19 reports. The new elevator is expected to retain some of the vintage charm of the old elevator and the rest of Lowe Mill. The main issue in the delay in getting the elevator fixed was finding a company able to repair an elevator that was built in 1901. Vendors, artists and customers have only been able to access the second and third floors by taking the stairs. Studios have had to change floors, and some have had to shut down. Officials say there has also been discussion about adding an additional elevator in the future.
