Ziehl-Abegg, the Germany-headquartered manufacturer of electric elevator motors, among other components in drive, ventilation and control technology, in March announced it had the best year in company history in 2023, marking a sales increase of approximately 9.5% to EUR955 million (US$1 billion). Further, significant investments laid the groundwork for sustainable global growth and structural realignment, the company observed. A highlight of the year was breaking ground for Ziehl-Abegg’s new, EUR100-million (US$109 million) U.S. plant in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The company also began construction on a new plant in Vietnam and launched production in Poland. This year, a production plant is being set up in India. The company has reorganized its structure, including a division into four geographic areas: Central Europe; Europe, the Middle East and Africa; Asia-Pacific; and the Americas. Ziehl-Abegg CEO Dr. Marc Wucherer said the adjustment brings the company closer to its customers. The company is also pursuing ambitious sustainability goals, including carbon neutrality and complete transparency.
