An early morning fire on March 14 at the Mankato, Minnesota headquarters (HQ) of MEI-Total Elevator Solutions resulted in no injuries, as multiple fire departments responded to the blaze, which MEI Vice President of Field Operations Joe Bach said was contained to a small area in the manufacturing plant, KEYC News Now is among outlets to report. Bach said the company expects to remain operational as it gathers details about the incident, which was reported at approximately 4 a.m. He also thanked the St. Clair, Eagle Lake and Janesville fire departments for their quick response. The source observed that MEI-Total Elevator Solutions was founded in 1971 by John Romnes as a one-man operation and has since grown into a multimillion-dollar company with more than 300 employees.
