The State Railway of Thailand is working to repair the vertical transportation (VT) along the Red Line commuter rail system after a recent inspection found that 47 of the 228 escalators installed and 22 of the elevators installed were not working, the Bangkok Post reports. The work has been awarded in three separate contracts with differing completion dates, with one of these covering the maintenance for all VT units on the Red Line. The Red Line is an electric commuter rail service spanning a total distance of 41.3 km.
