New Jersey Elevator Mishap That Occured in 2023 Heads to Court

A July 2023 incident in which a 5-year-old girl’s arm was injured as a result of it getting stuck between the elevator door and shaft on the seventh floor of a mid-rise condominium building she and her family were visiting in Hoboken, New Jersey, has now headed to court and is sparking concerns among building residents, the New York Post is among outlets to report. Video shows the girl’s mother, the building’s doorman and others struggling to free the child’s arm, with lotion finally doing the trick. The child required multiple stitches and now has a scar on her wrist.  Her parents are seeking compensation from both the building owner and elevator manufacturer. Residents of the upscale building say they were never informed of the incident and worry when they are in the elevator, especially with small children.
