KONE CEO: Digitalization and Sustainability Hold Promise in China

Delorme

KONE CEO Philippe Delorme said the Finland-based OEM plans to further invest in China, particularly in the areas of digitalization and sustainability, which he described as the most important elevator industry trends both globally and in China, Bastille Post Global is among outlets to report. In an interview with China Central Television, Delorme observed that China has “vastly adopted digital technologies” in the past 10 years, as it works toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. KONE solutions such as regenerative-drive elevators will be in demand in China, which accounts for approximately 10 million of the 25 million elevators globally, he said. China’s struggling real estate market, meanwhile, is being addressed by targeted government measures, and real estate “can still provide companies with broad development opportunities in the long run.”
