The City Council in Casper, Wyoming, amended a contract with the city’s elevator maintenance provider, KONE, to include repair of the passenger elevator serving the Ford Wyoming Center multipurpose area, Oil City News reports. After the elevator failed in May, it was discovered that the hydraulic jack that raises and lowers the car was broken. The US$128,720 contract amendment will be added to US$274,310 the Casper City Council had already set aside for upgrades to passenger and freight elevators in fiscal 2025. These upgrades are expected to keep the units operational for at least another 35 years. For the elevator at the Ford Wyoming Center, material delivery is expected to take up to 10 weeks, with up to four weeks needed to complete repairs.
