National Elevator Industry, Inc., (NEII) reports that this year’s Tradeswomen Build Nations (TWBN) event, which brought together 5,000 tradeswomen and allies in New Orleans during the last week of September, saw the largest turnout ever for women elevator field employees. This year’s TWBN hosted more than 100 active women elevator field employees from more than 30 International Union of Elevator Constructors Locals. NEII helped coordinate breakout sessions for senior leaders of major elevator OEMs to meet with their women field employees, sponsored a swag bag with member companies and provided a sample women’s fall protection harness for women to try on and provide feedback about. In addition, NEII member Bethany Wilson introduced guest speaker Chief Medical Officer of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Dr. Christine Yu Moutier, and NEII member Fiona Cleveland served as panelist in the LGBTQ workforce breakout session. The next TWBN is planned on September 19-21, 2026, in Chicago.
