NAESA New York Elevator Mechanic Seminar Coming Up in Blauvelt

Elevator Conference of New York reminds interested parties that NAESA International will offer a one-day, in-person Code Update Seminar for New York state-licensed elevator mechanics on January 15 in Blauvelt, NY. All state-licensed elevator mechanics must complete 8 h of continuing education each year for their renewal application to be granted and to maintain their license. This class can also be used for NAESA QEI (Qualified Elevator Inspector) training. New York state-licensed mechanics may only get their educational credit every 366 days, and it is an individual’s responsibility to keep track of the last class they attended. NAESA will not issue refunds for classes a person has taken that that do not count toward his or her New York Mechanic license renewal. The upcoming seminar will focus on changes to the latest editions of the 2020 Elevator Industry Field Employee Safety Handbook (.1 continuing-education unit CEU), NEC NFPA 70-2023 Code Update (.2 CEUs), ASME A17.6-2022 (revision of ASME A17.6 2017) (.15 CEUs), QEI-1 renewal requirements section 2.3 (0.5 CEUs) and ASME A17.1-8.11.4 Periodic Inspection of Escalators (.3 CEUs).
