The results of the “World’s Top 250 International Construction Companies List” published by Engineering News Record (ENR) magazine once again confirmed the success of the Turkish construction sector in the international arena.

45 Turkish Companies Achieve Record Success in the ENR 2025 List

ENR magazine, one of the most respected publications in the international construction sector since 1874, ranks the world’s leading construction companies based on the size of the projects they undertook in international markets in the previous year.

While 43 Turkish companies were listed in 2024, the number of Turkish companies rose to 45 in the 2025 list published in August, marking a record achievement. In terms of the number of companies, Türkiye ranks second with 45 companies, following the People’s Republic of China, which ranks first with 76 companies.

The Turkish Construction Sector’s Significant Success in International Projects

According to the report, the value of international projects undertaken by 45 Turkish construction companies in 2024 amounted to $20.8 billion. Turkish contractors accounted for 4.2% of the total project size of the 250 companies on the list. In terms of international project value, the Turkish construction sector ranked ninth in the world, ahead of the Netherlands, Sweden and Germany. Chinese companies ranked first in terms of total project size with $127.4 billion, as they did last year.

Eight Turkish Companies in the Top 100, Two Turkish Companies in the Top 50

Eight Turkish companies made it into the top 100 in the 2025 list. Among them, ENKA and RÖNESANS ranked in the top 50, further strengthening Türkiye’s prestige in the international construction sector. The global construction sector is going through a difficult period due to regional conflicts, supply chain issues, inflation and labor shortages.

According to 2024 data: The total project size of the world’s 250 largest international contracting companies reached $501.2 billion, with an increase of only 0.5%. Political uncertainties and rising labor and land costs are making investors cautious, while rising input costs continue to put pressure on the sector.

Turkish Engineering Consulting Firms Also Made the List

The results of ENR magazine’s “ENR 2025 – Top 225 International Engineering Firms List” were also announced. Eight Turkish engineering firms made the list again this year. In terms of the number of companies, Turkey ranked sixth (alongside Spain), moving up one place compared to last year, following the U.S., China, Italy, South Korea and Japan.

The Turkish construction sector’s overseas activities, which began in 1972, have continued to advance each year over the past 50 years. As of today, Turkish companies have undertaken 12,641 construction projects worth over $544.9 billion in 137 countries around the world. In addition, they have undertaken 3,053 international technical consultancy projects worth approximately $3.6 billion in 138 different countries.
