“Skyline-Altering” Tower Proposed in L.A.
A tower urbanize.LA describes as “skyline-altering” has been proposed for a parking lot at 925 South Figueroa Street next to the newly renovated Hotel Figueroa north of Staples Center and L.A. Live in Los Angeles. The rectangular, glassy design for the 975-ft.-tall, 66-story Figueroa Centre is by architecture firm CallisonRTKL, and Regalian is the developer. Plans were submitted to the L.A. Planning Department earlier this year. If built, Figueroa Centre would be the third-tallest building in L.A. and include 200 condominiums, a 220-key hotel, 94,000 sq. ft. of commercial space, a 617-space parking garage and up to 10 restaurants. A similar, 57-story development is planned nearby, on Olympic Boulevard.
Rebranded Seattle Tower Eyes 2019 Completion
A 41-story, mixed-use tower taking shape in downtown Seattle (ELEVATOR WORLD, July 2015) has been rebranded Arrivé and is scheduled for delivery in early 2019, Commercial Property ExecutiveTM reported. Formerly called Potala, the structure is being developed by Molasky Group and Binjiang Tower Corp. and will have ground-level retail, a hotel, apartments and below-grade parking. It is located at 2116 Fourth Avenue and was designed by Seattle firm Weber Thompson. Describing Arrivé as one of the first for-rent properties in Seattle, Mike Doran, vice president of development and construction at Molasky Group, said the tower is positioned to take advantage of the reemergence of the Belltown neighborhood.
