Callidus-Group

Holland’s Callidus Group specializes in the design, manufacture and installation of industrial elevators for special environments.

“Innovation is like art” is a slogan that seems to suit Holland’s Callidus Group. Owned by Theo Holtrop and Feitze Veenstra, Callidus is a technical project agency specializing in the design and production of advanced custom-designed mechatronical systems suitable for maritime and industrial applications. In addition, the company focuses on dynamic engineering. Its goal is to provide complete solutions for specific machinery manufacturing.  Complete Preassembled Hoisting

Callidus specializes in the design, manufacture and installation of industrial elevators for special environments, including buildings, ships and offshore plants. Callidus Pack and Plug® is a concept created specifically for the company’s elevator segment and includes a custom-made preassembled elevator tested and inspected in the factory. The ready-made elevator can be installed on location in one piece, protecting the system from damage during the completion phase of a structure’s construction. Because all assembly occurs in the factory, the timeframe from design until installation is shorter, providing clients with additional time and cost savings. Close attention is paid to the safety, reliability and sustainability of the system. Callidus works closely with inspection authorities and operates according to ATEX 95, ISO 8383, EN 81-1, EN 81-2, ASME 17.1 and ASME 17.7 standards. The Pack and Plug® concept has allowed Callidus to work with and manage clients from across the world.

New Factory

In June 2010, Callidus moved to a new factory in Joure, Holland, to better serve its clients and meet the needs of the growing company. During the development of the new facility, sustainability was a key focus. The goal was for the optimization of comfort and energy efficiency with the facility’s energy demands reduced to a minimum. The additional space provided by the new premises allows the testing of products in-house before delivering them to the construction site. Meanwhile, the company continues to grow. Callidus is currently working toward ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification in 2011. Addition-ally, the company now employs 20 engineers at the new facility but is considering increasing that number to 50 in the coming years.
