Elevator and escalator 2023 production data was released at the end of January by the China National Statistics Bureau, and the total number of units was 1.557 million, increasing 3.9% compared with 2022. The figure also includes approximately 100,000 escalators. The statistical figure was collected from scale elevator manufacturers with annual production of approximately 200 units or more.
In 2023, there were 87,598-unit elevator exports, growing 16.84% compared to that of 2022 with a production value of 12.362 billion yuan. There were 13,222-unit escalator exports, kept even with 2022, with a production value of 2.962 billion yuan. The elevator exports from the top 10 provinces and cities are Jiangsu 31092, Zhejiang 22777, Shanghai 16428, Guangdong 6418, Liaoning 4058, Shandong 1978, Tianjin 1025, Hebei 632, Xinjiang 575, and Fujian 507, respectively. The top 20 elevator exporting countries are 5905 to the Russian Federation, 4936 to the Philippines, 4746 to Kazakhstan, 3919 to Indonesia, 3568 to the United Arab Emirates, 3298 to Saudi Arabia, 3232 to Australia, 3126 to Vietnam, 2787 to Bangladesh, 2523 to Malaysia, 2450 to Thailand, 2221 to the UK, 2173 to Colombia, and 2156 to the United States. The top 5 provinces for escalator exports (including moving walkways) are Jiangsu 4206, Shanghai 3696, Zhejiang 2473, Guangdong 1886, and Hebei 448. The top 20 export destinations of escalators (including moving walkways) are 1267 to South Korea, 1019 to India, 554 to Indonesia, 545 to Thailand, 541 to the Russian Federation, 477 to Türkiye, 467 to Brazil, 444 to Mexico, 431 to the Philippines, 390 to Egypt, 335 to Malaysia, 334 to Saudi Arabia, 311 to Taiwan, 306 to Australia, 285 to Vietnam, 281 to Singapore, 254 to the United Arab Emirates, 241 to the United States, 227 to Hong Kong, Chtoa and 210 to Uzbekistan.
The data from 2020 to 2022 released by the Bureau were 1.282, 1.545, and 1.454 million respectively.
