Reno setting allows NAEC 2023 Convention & Expo attendees to choose their own adventure.

Boasting more than 300 days of sunshine each year, Reno, Nevada, offers a bright backdrop to the 74th National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) Convention & Expo. Set to take place at the high-tech Reno-Sparks Convention Center (RSCC) on September 10-13, this beloved industry gathering offers education, networking and leisure opportunities in the Reno-Tahoe area.

While nature may not be one’s first thought of “the Biggest Little City in the World,” a variety of outdoor experiences can be found less than an hour away at Lake Tahoe. As summer comes to an end, tourism dies down — and so do the afternoon winds — warming the water of the largest alpine lake in North America. Clear skies also bode well for the Great Reno Balloon Race, which slightly overlaps with the beginning of the NAEC event, and the National Championship Air Races and Air Show, which begins on the final day of the convention.

The Official Golf Tournament will take place on Sunday, September 10, at the high-end Old Greenwood Golf Course. Ranked the No. 5 course in the U.S. by golfers and home to the PGA Tour’s Barracuda Championship since 2000, the 600-acre, tree-lined course sits at an elevation of nearly 6,000 ft above sea level. Registration covering a cart, green fees, two meals, three drinks from the beverage cart and round-trip transportation is $300 for members and $350 for non-members. A memorable day of industry camaraderie and friendly competition on this Jack Nicklaus Signature course? Beyond price!

Back indoors at the RSCC, located just south of downtown Reno, dynamic educational sessions will be held concurrently with the exhibition. The 600,000-ft2 facility is the Reno-Tahoe area’s largest meeting space and prides itself on providing “the amenities of a first-tier city with small-town hospitality.” The RSCC is owned by the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority (RSCVA) and receives regular upgrades and improvements to its technology offerings and public spaces.
