In April 2021, KOSGEB announced its third call with the title “Digitalization in Manufacturing Industry” with up to 1 million liras of support budget being allocated for SMEs within this scope.

2021-01 and 2021-02 Project Proposal Calls on “Digitalization in Manufacturing Industry,” prepared within the scope of the KOBİGEL – SME Development Support Programme, are among the focal points of the 11th Development Plan and the 2021 Presidential Annual Programme.  

Within the scope of the Project Proposal Calls, a total support of 1 million TL, non-refundable up to 300 thousand TL and refundable up to 700 thousand TL, can be given per enterprise. Making an application will not qualify the enterprise, as applications will be scored according to the evaluation criteria determined by KOSGEB and the number of applications that can be supported within the budget will be supported based on the scores.

Project proposal calls for application are:

2021-01 Project Proposal Call: “Supporting SMEs that develop domestic technology to contribute digitalization process in manufacturing industry”

2021-02 Project Proposal Call: “Supporting SMEs in the manufacturing industry to take further advantage of digital technologies in their production and other business related processes”

Technology Developer SMEs in Manufacturing Industry

Technology developer SMEs in electronics, informatics and machine manufacturing industries that develop products and solutions in smart digital technologies can submit projects in order to make value-added improvements in their products/software including one of the eight digital technologies associated with the manufacturing industry or a few of them, provided that they are integrated, and/or can commercialize the products/software they have developed.

Those that submit projects for commercialization only are required present a document proving that they have successfully developed their products with public support or proving it was the output of a Technology Development Zone or R&D Centre project. Such a document is not required for the applicants who have made value-added improvements to a business portfolio.

SMEs Operating in a Manufacturing Industry

SMEs active in a manufacturing industry can submit projects to adapt one or more of the eight digital technologies associated with their manufacturing industry and to their related business processes.

Projects can be submitted on following titles:

  1. Processing Big Data with Analytical Methods and Using it in a Manufacturing Industry
  2. Internet of Things in a Manufacturing Industry
  3. Industrial Robotics in a Manufacturing Industry
  4. Smart Sensor Technologies in a Manufacturing Industry
  5. Cyber Physical Smart Factory Systems and Their Components Based on Artificial Intelligence
  6. Cyber Security in a Manufacturing Industry
  7. Smart and Flexible Automation Systems in a Manufacturing Industry
  8. Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality Technologies in a Manufacturing Industry

SMEs can only apply for one of the project proposal calls, but they can choose multiple projects within a single call. Moreover, enterprises that submit projects should be active and registered in the KOSGEB database.
