EHC Global Wins Safety Award, Makes Key Hire
May 1, 2018
EHC Global has won a safety award and hired a general manager for its Spain and Portugal operations. A program of Ontario’s Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA), the 2017 Impact Safety Award recognizes organizations that have made significant contributions to public safety that go “above and beyond” regulatory compliance. EHC President and CEO Jeno Eppel said that, in addition to developing innovative safety solutions, EHC participates in industry safety groups and promotes best practices in escalator safety. Its NT SafeRailTM handrail, featuring permanent and vandalism-resistant safety messages, was launched at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa, Canada. TSSA Director of Elevating and Amusement Devices Roger Neate said such designs “fit nicely with TSSA’s own efforts in addressing safety on escalators.” EHC was featured in TSSA’s 2019 annual report and featured in a video produced by TSSA.
EHC also recently announced Miguel Chías González-Blanch as general manager of EHC Spain and Portugal. Based in Seville, Spain, he will report directly to Central Region Managing Director Norman Rosnersky and be responsible for growing EHC’s market presence in the Iberian Peninsula. Prior to joining EHC, Chías was operations manager of MP Lifts in Seville, previously serving as the company’s branch manager in Seville and Almeria. Speaking Spanish and English, he holds degrees in Law and Economics from the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville.
