LiftExpo Poland Trade Fair, which was held in Poland’s capital Warsaw for the first time, got credit with its organization and forum quality.
Organized by Polish Association of Lift Manufacturers (PALM) and Lentewenc Sp. Zoo., LiftExpo Poland was held at centrally located EXPO XXI Warsaw on October1-3. It should be noted that this is not a continuation of the trade fair held in Kielce by a different organization company before COVID-19, but is a completely new trade fair lead by PALM.
The central location of EXPO XXI, just 2 min from Warsaw Chopin Airport, is a great advantage for this new organization. It was very easy for me to reach the venue on a sunny autumn day one day before the event. The location is an especially great advantage for future editions of the trade fair.
Although works for the organization and promotion of the trade fair started less than one year ago, an amazing conference program, organized simultaneously with the trade fair as a result of devoted efforts of Tadeusz Popielas, secretary general of PALM, contributed positively to the quality, together with the profile of participating companies. In the conference area, which was an open space at the center of the venue, 26 speakers took to the stage for 20 presentations in total over three days.
This was best proven by the speakers of the panel held on the first day after the inauguration ceremony. Wim Koster, president of ELA (European Lift Association), made a presentation on “Development Expectations of the Lift Sector in Europe” as the first speaker of the panel. “Invest your money in an existing market: modernizing lifts,” said Koster, and also underlined that Europe currently has a lift stock of 6.7 million, most of which require renovation.
Massimo Bezzi, president of European Federation for Elevator Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EFESME), which is the voice of SMEs in Europe, made a presentation on EFESME’s structure and activities. He also gave information on the global transition from EN 81-20/50 to ISO 8100 1/2.
Lidia Godlewska-Carmona, deputy head of Unit European Commission Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs Machinery & Equipment, joined a teleconference with the panel to explain the importance of EU industry policy and the internal market for the lift sector in Polish. The presentations after were also made in Polish.
Forty-two companies from nine countries, including Orona, Fermator, Lift Components and Brugg, opened stands in the fourth hall of EXPO XXI. Forty-five percent of these companies were from outside Poland. Artemis, Aybey, EKA, Hera Lift, Nur Asansör and Rota Lift were Turkish companies that participated in the trade fair.
The first two days of LiftExpo Poland were especially busy, and 1,117 people visited the trade fair in three days.
In addition to special event spaces such as the Accessibility Island and Education Day during the trade fair, trips were organized for seven classes from Electricity Engineering and Technical Schools.
Gala Dinner
A gala dinner was held on the second evening of the trade fair at the scenic Panorama Sky Bar located on the 40th floor of Skyliner, which was completed in 2021 and became one of Warsaw’s most iconic buildings with a height of 195 m. The participants met at the cocktail event before the dinner and at the organizing company’s award ceremony afterwards. Omar Lift, Amtek and EON Jerzy Ejma received the best lift award, while the best stand design award was given to Orona, Fermator, Global Lift Poland and Lift Components, respectively.
The next trade fair is planned for October 2026, again at EXPO XXI Warsaw. You can find detailed information on liftexpo.pl.
