We are leaving behind a hot summer above seasonal norms as we enter September, and it is safe to say that it has also been a stagnant summer for our sector. Post-election economic policy shifts were manifested in sharp exchange rate and interest rate movements, while the country faced additional taxes and restricted loans. This situation manifested itself significantly in cash flow. I hope that with the end of the holiday period, the movements in the international sector will be reflected in the domestic market.

We welcome you again with very rich content in our September-October issue. The Turkish Elevator Industrialists Federation (TASFED) held a series of meetings in Diyarbakır and Gaziantep during its sectoral meetings in Southeastern Anatolia. The champion of the Football Tournament organized by the All Elevator Industry Employers’ Union (TASIS) was Akkaya Asansör.

The Iran Liftex Fair, which is held every year in Tehran, the capital of Iran, hosted hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors under the scorching heat again this year. The main agenda of the fair was reducing dependence on foreign markets and supporting domestic manufacturers.

Engineering News Record (ENR) magazine, one of the international construction industry publications, published the 2023 results of the “Top 250 International Contractors,” which is based on the revenues generated by contractors from their activities abroad in the previous year. Forty Turkish companies were included in the list this year due to their performance in 2022. Thus, Turkey maintained its second place in the world in terms of the number of companies.

After a long break of almost five years, the 23rd Elevcon congress was held in Prague, the historic and beautiful capital of the Czech Republic. The three-day program included 27 presentations and two trainings, with guests having the opportunity to meet for dinner on two evenings.
