SP: How is the market outlook for German technology products in the construction/building industry?

VR: German hardware with appropriate test certification generates a huge demand in the Indian construction market. Year-on-year, it’s increasing because construction professionals have realized the importance of efficient hardware for the smooth functioning of their facilities.

SP: Can you discuss the impact of Euro inflation on your operations, as well as the influence of the Ukraine conflict and its effects on your business?

VR: In bits and pieces, we all have had some sporadic ill effects on our operations, and at the moment, we are past all these impediments.

SP: Could you share your company’s strategies for recovering from the economic downturn caused by pandemic-related lockdowns?

VR: We have not adopted anything special or new to see us through this phase. The Indian construction industry is booming; we have spread our services to Tier 2 and 3 cities, too, to get more exposure.

SP: Have you witnessed increased demand for your touch-free automatic door entry systems in light of the pandemic’s hygiene concerns?

VR: Yes, swing door operators and automated sliding systems are making a huge foray, especially for washrooms and other places where hygiene is of prime concern.

SP: How do you anticipate the Indian market evolving for your specialized products like heat and smoke ventilation systems?

VR: Increased fire accidents in major cities with high-rise buildings have caused customers to embrace this technology with both hands. Shortly, this will become mandatory in every high-rise building.

SP: What is GEZE’s long-term vision and strategy for the coming decade?

VR: Quality and customer satisfaction are two prime parameters on which GEZE never compromises. This should help us in the short, as well as the long term.

SP: What specific product offerings has your company tailored for the hospitality sector?

VR: We have door controls such as concealed door closers, floor springs, automatic sliding, swing, revolving doors and heat and smoke ventilation systems for public areas.

SP: Given the rise in healthcare and medical investments post-pandemic, have you seen new opportunities for marketing your hermetically sealed automation doors?

VR: We have one of the best hermetically sealed auto sliding doors for operation theaters and pharma industries. We have been working closely with a few clean room consultants and manufacturers.

SP: What sets your door control systems, including door closers and floor springs, apart from the competition in terms of performance and features?

VR: Our door controls have been tested to stringent European standards and are tested from Warrington as per the EN Standard for number of cycles and fire ratings. GEZE is a 160-year-old company in Germany, and it is consolidating its market share year on year.

SP: Can you provide insights into the current trends in the Indian market for revolving doors and how your company is adapting to these changes?

VR: Revolving doors are becoming more prominent because of their security features and energy conservation qualities.

SP: With a diverse range of manual sliding systems, how has your marketing strategy evolved over the past 15 years, and what has been the response to these products in the market?

VR: We have a wide range of manual sliding systems, and they are well accepted by the niche segment of the market.
