Great Interest in the First Kazakhstan Expo

The first Kazakhstan expo addressing the countries of Central Asia was organized in Almaty between 29-31 March 2023.

Kazakhstan, having the greatest economy with the most powerful performance in Central Asia, also attracts heavy attention from the lift and escalator industry. According to United Nations’ data, the country’s growth rate for housing was realized as 7% in the middle term. Urban areas compose 62% of the housing stock in the country, so the lift and escalator industry has gained acceleration with the intense urbanization. In Kazakhstan, products made in China and Russia dominate the markets, and they must have an EAC certificate to be sold.

Over 60 companies from seven countries opened stands at the expo organized by Intro Fuarcılık and held at Almaty Baulan Sholak Sports Palace.  Manufacturers from Belarus, Russia, China, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, especially the local companies, exhibited their latest products. Alongside the companies, such as FUJI, KONE, Otis, SHARP, LG Asansör, Koyo, Joylive Asansör, Mogilevliftmash, Teknopark Uzbekistan, Dostar Asansör Kazakhstan, Tedolenergo, Nagelengine Tenau and Delfar, which opened stands at the expo, the Turkish companies also showed great interest and those which opened stands included Autur, Çelikray, Çözüm-As, Eker, Genemek, Mars, Minimak and Qul Lift. During the seminar organized at the same time as the expo, 13 presentations were given with the attendance of the leading industry representatives from Kazakhstan, civil society organizations, the general public and guests from abroad.

All of the guests met at the gala dinner which was held at Best Western Atakent Plus Hotel on the evening of the second day. Intro Fuarcılık Project Manager Fatih Akyurt gave a speech at the dinner and said: “One year ago, I could not even imagine that I would be here as the organizer of the expo. I did not have knowledge about the lift industry then. I do not sell lifts, but thanks to my years of experience in organizing fairs, I did know that this industry was necessary for Kazakhstan and hoped that its future, potential and power would be in this country. And it has finally happened.”

Plaques of appreciation were given to the Industrial Development Committee of the Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Industrial Safety Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Russia National Lift Union, Kyrgyz Lift Association, Kazakhstan Union of Construction, Kazakhstan National Lift Union, Lift Companies Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan, lift construction facility “ALATAU”, Office for Developing the Social Infrastructure in Almaty, Committee for Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Ministry for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Almaty Chamber of Entrepreneurs and ELEVATOR WORLD for their support at the exhibition.
