Hydraulic Advantages

Index System India’s MD explains how its partnership with KLEEMANN benefits domestic elevator manufacturers.

2023 is shaping up as a fantastic year for hydraulic manufacturers in the elevator industry — and this success shall continue in the coming years. With affordable models requiring minimal space, even low-rise housing formats like villas, bungalows and duplexes and public buildings like schools, hospitals, universities, government offices, shopping malls and metro stations have begun to incorporate lifts for passengers and goods. With rising demand for home lifts due to modernization and urbanization, emphasis on rebuilding infrastructure and developing sustainable and smart residences, as well as the need for branded lift components, manufacturers will have more opportunities in the coming years.

Hydraulic lifts work on a basic principle: To go up, a pump pushes oil into the cylinder, pushing the piston (which pushes the lift car) up. To go down, the valve opens, and oil is allowed to flow back into the reservoir and is pushed back using the gravitational force of the lift car. The demand for hydraulic lifts has risen, owing to their advantages:

  • Relatively less expensive to install than other elevator types; safe and easy to maintain.
  • Occupies less space in a building, requiring almost 10% less area for the lift shaft than other elevating means. No overhead room needed, no pit needed and does not require a separate machine room.
  • Hydraulic elevators have been rated the safest option for home elevators due to silent operation, easy rescue in case of emergency and longer operating life.

Index is continuously focused on enhancing the customer experience, in addition to offering elevator manufacturers with top brands and globally manufactured, world-class products. Furthering its motto, Index has pioneered in partnering with KLEEMANN Lifts, Greece, to provide lift manufacturers with branded hydraulic lift components readily available in India to enhance their manufacturing capabilities.

Finally, we present the arrival of KLEEMANN Hydraulic Kits in India. These kits include hydraulic components such as power units, hose pipes and pistons for G+1, G+2 and G+3 models for both six- and eight-passenger capacity. Also, we will ensure the continuous supply and timely delivery of the same to manufacturers across India. Our team will be readily available for prompt, customized solutions for any requirement of hydraulic components.
