Enhanced Two-in-One Platform Lift

Innovations

The Platform Lift Company (PLC) has announced to U.K. specifiers and architects the arrival of the newly enhanced FlexStep complete with an automatic onboard barrier feature. FlexStep is a two-in-one platform lift providing both stairs and a stairlift to customers needing a space-saving alternative access solution. The Danish manufacturer Liftup, of which PLC is a certified distributor and provider of parts and technical training for in the U.K., has developed the product to now incorporate an automatic onboard barrier combined with an active ramp to create the ultimate user experience. Existing customers of the FlexStep can also benefit from this new feature which can be retrofitted. PLC qualified engineers can fit the automatic onboard barrier and ramp to an already installed FlexStep. An automatic onboard barrier is suitable for models that have four, five or six steps.

Elevator Pushbuttons

Dewhurst, a global leader in lift button manufacturing, has launched the new Compact 3 XR chemical-resistant pushbutton. Compact 3 XR uses a specially designed polymer that is transparent and enhanced with chemical crack resistance and high-impact strength, improving its durability and quality. The XR polymer was tested for discolouration, swelling, crazing, deformation, disassembly and residue formation. The product includes UV-stabilised formulations, making it durable and appropriate for internal and external applications. In addition, the polymer, which is used in both the pressel and the body, can be processed at lower operating temperatures, reducing energy use and environmental impact during manufacturing. Compact 3 XR is being launched across the Dewhurst pushbutton range, including US91EN, US95, US95AB and Jumbo. US95 and US96 are now available, with the rest releasing soon.
