Kosgeb to Provide up to 70 Thousand TRY For SME Training at Model Factories

The education expenses of SMEs that want to receive training for digital transformation at model factories opened in Ankara and Bursa will be covered up to 70 thousand TRY by KOSGEB in order to encourage them to switch to lean production and enable them to apply experiential learning principles in their businesses.

Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology, explained the initiative taken by KOSGEB to support SMEs in the days of the pandemic, during which the importance of digital transformation has become so obvious. The represented stimulus package will enable the SMEs to gain competence through experiential learning techniques.

We should develop the cheapest and most error-free production model with the fewest resources and at the earliest time.

Varank said, “Now, distance learning is popular, as remote access to services has become possible. Developing a cheap, error-free and efficient production model with the fewest resources at the earliest has become very important. Many theoretical concepts will be put into practice through the model that we call lean production. Model factories are very important for our SMEs to gain competence through experiential learning techniques. Therefore, we have decided to support SMEs as they  transform their businesses through the help of trainings given at model factories.  We have enlarged the scope of the Enterprise Development Support Program and designed model factory support with an upper limit of 70 thousand TRY.”

The model factories, the first of which was opened in Ankara and the second in Bursa, is known as a competence center for common use.  With the 11th Development Plan covering the years 2019-2023, it is targeted to increase the number of these factories to 14. Initially, model factories will be established in Izmir, Mersin, Gaziantep, Konya and Kayseri.

SMEs will be able to apply for model factory support, provided by KOSGEB under the roof of the Enterprise Development Support Program, through the link https://edevlet.kosgeb.gov.tr/EHizmetler?ReturnUrl=%2f .
