Sustainable Tower, Circular Tech Hub for Eastern Paris
May 1, 2018
A 180-m-tall mixed-use tower and circular technology hub are the centerpieces of a plan for the Charenton-Bercy District in eastern Paris unveiled by a team led by Bouygues Immoblier UranEra at the MIPIM international property show in Cannes, France, in March, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat reported. Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) is the architect, and Ateliers is the landscape architect. Consultancy AREP and community think tank Le Grand Reservoir are also involved. The approximately 54-story tower will contain a hotel and residences overlooking a landscaped garden bridge over active railroad tracks. The highly sustainable structure will join a circular, raised timber building over a public courtyard boasting views of the Seine.
