Sustainable VT Solutions by Monarch BST for Modern High-Rise

Energy-Efficient Machinery, Systems, Components and Control Mechanisms

As cities grow taller and vertical-transportation (VT) systems become the backbone of urban mobility, the need for sustainable elevator solutions in high-rise buildings has never been more pressing. With increasing global emphasis on green architecture and energy conservation, elevator systems are undergoing a paradigm shift — transforming from conventional transport units to intelligent, energy-efficient solutions that seamlessly align with sustainability goals. Monarch BST, an Inovance Company at the forefront of this transition, is delivering high-performance, eco-conscious elevator solutions engineered for the future.

Energy efficiency in elevators extends far beyond just the machinery — it requires a holistic redesign of systems, components and control mechanisms. Monarch BST has adopted a multidimensional approach to sustainable VT by integrating advanced technologies that drastically reduce energy consumption without compromising ride quality or performance.

High-Efficiency Hoisting with Regenerative Energy Recovery

Monarch BST’s elevator systems are designed to deliver maximum performance with minimal energy consumption. At the core of this efficiency are our high-efficiency variable frequency drives (VFDs) working with Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) hoist machines that consume less power and offer smoother and quieter operation. These compact and thermally optimized machines are perfectly suited for the demanding environments of modern high-rises.

Complementing the elevator systems, Monarch BST’s regenerative drive technology, is enhanced by our Active Front End (AFE) solution. This advanced setup ensures elevators not only consume less energy — but also regenerate it. During upward travel with a light load or downward travel with a full load, the hoist motor produces excess energy. Monarch BST’s AFE-enabled regenerative drives capture this energy and channel it back into the building’s electrical system, rather than dissipating it as heat. The result is a significant reduction in net energy consumption, improved power quality and a minimal environmental footprint.

Smart Energy-Saving Features for Everyday Efficiency

Our elevators are equipped with energy-saving features to optimize power usage even during non-operational periods. Our smart sleep mode enables controllers and display systems to automatically shift to a low-power state when idle — helping significantly reduce standby energy consumption, especially important for elevators in 24/7 environments. In addition, the Monarch BST solutions offer auto control of elevator car fan and light, which causes less consumption of energy in idle state. The elevator car cabin features energy-efficient LED lighting that further reduces power while offering enhanced illumination and extended service life. Together, these features contribute to a greener operation and a more sustainable user experience, without compromising performance or aesthetics.

Intelligent Traffic Management With Group Destination Control

Elevator systems incorporate advanced destination control technology in groups of elevators that optimize vertical traffic flow by intelligently analyzing passenger demand. These solutions allocate cars based on real-time needs, minimizing the number of trips, reducing wait times and significantly cutting energy usage — especially in high-traffic, high-rise buildings. Enhanced further by intelligent group functions with dynamic traffic analysis, our systems continuously learn and adapt to user behavior and peak usage patterns. This ensures that elevator dispatching is always efficient, reducing unnecessary stops and improving overall operational sustainability.

Sustainability Without Compromise

The path to smart cities begins with smart infrastructure. Elevators, as integral vertical arteries of urban buildings, must evolve to meet both environmental and operational expectations. As high rises continue to shape skylines across India and beyond, our commitment remains strong — to provide eco-friendly VT that meets the highest standards of performance, safety and energy efficiency.
