The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department provided technical training titled “Safe Rescue of People Trapped in Elevators” to 300 newly recruited firefighters between June 16 and 23. The practical training and technical presentations were delivered by the expert field maintenance and repair team of Mars Elevator, a group company of Merih Asansör.
The Training Was Conducted Both Theoretically and Practically
As part of preparations for emergency situations across the city, the training covered safe rescue procedures in elevator systems and was conducted both theoretically and practically. The 300 newly assigned firefighters were provided with basic mechanical knowledge, information on elevator system types, safety procedures and intervention scenarios.
Training Topics:
- Rescue Techniques in Electric Elevators
- Intervention in MR (Machine Room) and MRL (Machine-Room-Less) Systems
- Differences Between Synchronous and Asynchronous Motors and Their Applications
- Rescue Procedures in Hydraulic Elevators
- Safe Rescue in Power Outages, Malfunctions and Emergency Scenarios
- Hands-on Practical Exercises on the System
The Mars Elevator technical team shared vital information with young firefighters through practical examples of malfunctioning systems they had encountered in the field. Ferdi Kıdıman, Field Maintenance and Repair manager at Mars Elevator, said in a statement about the training: “The knowledge and experience we have shared with 300 young firefighters will save a life one day. We view this training not merely as a technical process, but as a public service.“
