PlasmaAir 600 Series

Complete systems, tools and services

Air Disinfection Solution

The PlasmaAir 600 Series bipolar ionizer air disinfection device is available from PlasmaAir International, Inc., a WellAir brand. Rated for 2,400 ft3/min, the device produces positive and negative ions to neutralize harmful pathogens, pollutants and odors in high-traffic areas of buildings such as elevators. The self-balancing ionizer is typically installed within a portion of an air-conditioning system. Ionizers are self-contained in a case constructed of ABS plastic and protected by an inline 500-milliamp glass cartridge fuse. The 600 series is UL 2998-validated for zero ozone emissions. Additional features include:

  • Less than 0.2 lb weight
  • Maximum operating temperature of 93˚C
  • Voltage input of 12-240 V, depending on model and whether electric charge is direct, alternating current or both
  • Less than 1 W power consumption
  • Frequency of 50-60 Hz

New Industrial Elevators

Versatile, Powerful, High-Tech 2
The newly designed Alimak SL-H elevator in service

Alimak, a designer and provider of elevators and related equipment for industrial and construction sites, is introducing a new series, the company announced in April. The all-new Alimak SL-H is a passenger and freight elevator suitable for tough operating environments, including cement plants, power stations, ports, shipyards, steelworks, mines, manufacturing, storage and logistics facilities. This new product provides an industrial elevator range in three sizes and offers payload capacities from 1000 kg to 3000 kg. The new system offers uses of rack and pinion elevators with the drive mounted on top of the unit’s car. This technology enables the car to climb up and down the mast at a controlled speed, without the need for a shaft or machine room. Constructed from aluminum and hot-dipped galvanized steel, the robust design minimizes downtime and operating costs, while withstanding extreme operational and environmental challenges. Alimak SL-H optimizes for comfort, and the drive unit provides smooth acceleration and deceleration leveling at landings, irrespective of load. In addition, the elevators are push-button operated from the car and landings via a modern collective touch screen control system. An available unique dual solution allows feature of two independent elevator cars operating on a single guide mast column, reducing material costs.

Enhanced Terminal Blocks

Versatile, Powerful, High-Tech 3

WAGO of Germantown, Wisconsin, has expanded its TOPJOB® S multi-level installation terminal block series with the addition of push-button and hybrid variants. These offerings allow for fusing or blade-style disconnect, as well as direct ground connection to the DIN rail, all in one terminal block. These terminal blocks share accessories with the rest of those in the TOPJOB S family, and conductor termination is fast and simple thanks to the Push-in CAGE CLAMP®. In addition to open-tool slot and push-button variations, these terminal blocks are also available as a hybrid solution of the two actuation types, allowing users to choose which is best for field wiring. Utilized to save space in industrial applications, this product gives assemblies a clean, seamless look.

Elevator Maintenance Service

Versatile, Powerful, High-Tech 4

Intelevator, an elevator maintenance service conceived through a collaboration of Southern Elevator and Lift AI, is now available to select customers and partners. The Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled solution facilitates “data-driven elevator management that represents the next frontier of uptapped value,” according to the companies. Benefits include:

  • Targeted, task-specific maintenance programs
  • Measurable standards of operation
  • Real-time performance dashboards
  • Uptime performance guarantees and expectations
  • Transparency in service operations

Intelevator gathers data from elevators and combines it with service operations data to provide a comprehensive and transparent view of a customer’s elevator operations. Maintenance may be targeted based on usage to focus service on the elevators and components that require attention, thereby preserving resources for proactive maintenance and faster response times. Email reports go straight to a customer’s inbox. Intelevator is available to elevator owners and elevator service companies in various packages, with or without hardware.

Southern Elevator is a full-service elevator maintenance, repair and modernization company founded in 1949 and serving the Carolinas and Virginia. Lift AI is a technology company focused on developing IoT-enabled solutions and service for the elevator and real estate industries. In announcing the new offering, the companies said: “Replace uncertainty with data, and put technology to work so your teams can get the job done.”

Risk-Reduction Sensor and Smart Teaching Unit

The SIL3-certified sensor
The SIL3-certified sensor Ants LES03 can be combined with the SIL3-certified safety gear trigger SGT02.

Kübler has introduced the SIL3-certified sensor Ants LES03, which can be combined with the SIL3-certified safety gear trigger SGT02 to trigger electromechanical safety gears. This means that classic mechanical solutions with all relevant components can be replaced. In addition to the safe triggering of an electromechanical safety gear, Kübler can also reset it. The state of the safety gear is constantly monitored. SGT02 thus provides not only a high level of safety for passengers, but refuge spaces during installation and maintenance of elevator systems. Further, shield mode offers a high level of safety for installation and service teams.

Kübler also introduced Smart Teaching Unit STU02, which quickly and easily parameterizes the evaluation unit or shaft copying system via an intuitive web interface for desktop or mobile devices. Ideally, the parameterization process is implemented in a CAN-capable controller. The controller manufacturer integrates the teaching process of the evaluation unit directly into the controller. The smart teaching unit, or STU, communicates with the PSU02 evaluation unit via CAN and also provides a WLAN network. The user can access this secure network with a smartphone or any other terminal device. A website opens via the respective web browser, which guides the user through the parameterization of the PSU02 evaluation unit. In addition to the guided teaching process, the STU offers an overview of the parameters entered, as well as a diagnostic function with automatic error detection.
