Once providing one fifth of London’s power, the revamped Battersea Power Station now offers an electrifying elevator experience, complete with unique seasonal offerings. Lift 109, named for its 109-m ascent to a viewing platform atop the north-west chimney, provides a remarkable panoramic view of the city. Before boarding the Otis, custom-designed glass elevator, visitors enter the Power Station’s Art Deco Turbine Hall A for an interactive multi-media exhibition detailing the building’s history and transformation.

A longstanding fixture of the London skyline, Battersea Power Station was built in the 1930s, remaining operational until 1983. After various failed attempts to repurpose the building, the Power Station was purchased by current stakeholders, Sime Darby Property, SP Setia and EPF, in 2012. Today, Battersea Power Station is a 42-acre community comprised of shops, restaurants, entertainment venues, homes, offices, green spaces and Lift 109.

Decorated in florals, the viewing platform provides 360-degree views of London.
An Elevated, Springtime View of London - Easter-Activities
Easter activities include springtime storytelling, singing and dancing.

Lift 109 opened to the public in mid-November 2022, offering extended hours before and after Christmas and special private ascents for Valentine’s Day. With live music and a butler serving champagne, the lift was decorated with floral arrangements for a romantic outing. Now until April 16, Battersea Power Station has a “basketful of Easter and springtime activities” in store for visitors. Lift 109 will once again be dressed in a beautiful display of blooms by the U.K.’s longest operating florist, Moyses Stevens. Other not-to-be-missed offerings include a giant flower trail, family hula hoop classes, mini sports day and springtime storytelling, singing and dancing.
